Here is a great update from Brother Ed Keele, Chair of the Veterans Affairs Committee, regarding our drive to supply troops in Afghanistan last year:

Brothers:

Received the following today from:  Maj. Gary Kerr, XO, 4th Squadron, 73rd CAV Regiment, 82nd Airborne Div.(Farah Province, Afghanistan):

“I just got the 5 boxes you sent for my guys.  I wanted to thank you.  I went thru the boxes in my office and organized like items.  The boxes filled my office.   After sorting, I put them in the hall for the guys to pick thru and I then passed them off to the Chaplain to distribute as he sees fit.  I did take most of the boxes of paper and pens out and add them to our stock of humanitarian aid.  In fact some of that will be distributed to a school in Shewan tomorrow.  This not only helps the kids but it also helps our mission as we hand this stuff out with the Police and try to put an afghan face on most of it which makes them a little more respected and a little bit more legitimate, helping the overall mission.”

Well Brothers, the donation made it to the troops and Afghan children and that is great. Reads like all boxes arrived in OK shape.

I will be happy to write a blurb as Larry requested the other day. I will put it together & send it to Larry. Thanks again for this effort and as you read  Gary’s comment you will see how the AOH helped with the MISSION.
